So there you go, my birthday wishlist…..

Nail polish with a difference.

The last 12 months or maybe a little longer I have fallen in love with make-up. I am loving learning new techniques, trying new brands and genuinely experimenting more.

This new found love has also seen me become a little addicted to nail polishes. Slowly building up a small collection of all colours.

So when the beautiful Aimee told me she was creating her own nail polish range I may have shrieked a little with joy.

You see I absolute adore Aimee her style, her humour and her kick ass view of life. She has supported me in my body confidence journey both as an inspiration and as a friend.

She is also totally stunning and is one amazing alternative plus size model. Seriously check out this photo I have pinched of her Facebook modelling page “sorry Aimee” and definitely go visit her page, her photos are so amazing. I love her alternative style.

The colours are amazing, the intensity of the glitter is immense. Seriously they are amazing.

Go check out her shop now, her line was released on Friday and she sold out in less than an hour.

I was lucky enough to purchase four shades all that I love. I have now pre-ordered three more. The shop will be restocked for this Saturday 5th September.

I am truly in love with these radioactive unicorn polishes.

In fact I would go as far as saying I am a……

Aimee has so many things planned for the range with some exciting new shades coming up

I cannot wait.

So if you are like me and have a little nail polish addiction and you want some intense vibrant colours check out Radioactive Unicorn I promise you won’t be disappointed.

*I have recieved nothing for this review I just absolutely love the range.

No rules, wear what you love..

My journey over the last two years of self discovery has birthed inside of me a new love for fashion and make up.

I’ve experimented and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Tried colours and patterns that I would have never worn before.

I’ve had some great successes and some terrible failures but all have been a valuable part of growing.

So what have I learned?

Black is still my favourite colour but a little accent of colour can bring to life an outfit.

Pastels will cause everyone you meet to ask you if you are ill as you look a little off colour.

Wearing strong lipstick is great but make sure you drink from one side of a glass otherwise said lipstick ends up all over your forehead. Not good when schmoozing and trying to impress.

I can wear a dress and the sky won’t fall in.

Shape wear knickers sometimes roll down and cause quite a panic in the middle of an awards evening, no one noticed of course right. 😳

I love wearing hats and yes some do suit me.

Fake eyelashes are awesome but not stuck to your cheekbones.

I can wear heels now and again but I’m still on the search for the perfect black boots.

Heels look good but do not wear them for the first time at an event which requires you to stand for over four hours.

To be fair it’s been such an amazing time really discovering who I am and what I like .

Still I think the greatest lesson I have learned is that there are no rules.

You wear what you want, be it a dress, a crop top ( yes Oprah that’s aimed at you) or ripped jeans.

Never let anyone or society dictate your style.

For years I’ve listened to others and not myself, not anymore.

I’ve learned to love my body and in doing so I’m learning to live freely.

I’m loving fashion and make-up and the only limitation I have is my bank balance.

Urban Decay

Last weekend I was invited to spend some time at the Urban Decay store in Selfridges Birmingham to learn a little about their new spring range that  has just hit the stores. I know a little of the Urban Decay products but was super excited to learn more.

The afternoon was also a great opportunity to meet other bloggers too. I love any chance to network and get to know more bloggers and extend my blog list.

The event was hosted by the beautiful Kirsty who is completely stunning and really knows her beauty products.

I was really impressed by the Urban Decay products the whole range offers you a fantastic variety. There is something to suit anyone’s personal taste.

From neutrals to bright pinks and purples.

The new range of lip glosses were stunning, really pigmented and I just fell in love with the purple ones.

 I need.

The Birmingham Selfridges store also hold a limited amount of the truly beautiful vault. A box of stunning lipsticks and liners.

If money was no option I would have left the store an owner of one of these beautiful collections.

At the beginning of the event Kirsty asked us all what products we were interested in learning more about and for many of us the search was on for the perfect foundation. I know for me it’s becoming a long endless search as I have got older I have different needs and wants from a foundation. Kirsty was fantastic in colour matching me with one of the new Naked Skin foundations and after a trial I was sold. The range is fantastic for all skin tones and the foundation gives an amazing coverage yet really does feel weightless.

I seriously fell in love with many of the products and left with a bottle of foundation and two amazing eye shadows which are so pigmented they are stunning. Even my husband commented on them and that’s saying something.

I now have a wish list of quite a few must have products including that purple lipgloss which I am regretting leaving without. I also would like one of the new individual blushers.

The Urban Decay range really impressed me and I will certainly be adding to my own as soon as I can.

A big thanks to Kirsty for hosting the event and to Urban Decay Selfridges Birmingham for the invite.

See you soon.

Transformation

I have been changing so much over the last couple of years.

Finding out who I am and who I wish to be.

Finding my style, what I like, what I want to wear and so much more.

It’s been a journey full of ups and downs.

So to celebrate this journey and how far I have come and how finally I am starting to like what I see in the mirror I booked myself a photo shoot with the amazing Chiara Aprea Photography.

I had seen a few of the photos from my friends shoots and was really excited for my own.

The whole shoot was amazing Chiara is a wonderful person so friendly and makes you feel at home as soon as you enter her studio.

After a coffee and a chat it was all go.

Besides being an incredible photographer Chiara is also a truly talented make up artist and hairdresser and before long I was transformed.

I chose a very exciting style but Chiara made my idea come to life.

the makeover

Then it was time for the photography to begin.

I was so nervous but after the first few photos and Chiara constant reassurance I completely relaxed and enjoyed being in front of the camera.

Honestly I could rave on and on about how fantastic Chiara is but I think I’m just going to let the photos speak for me.

Honestly I love them all.

If you are considering having a photo shoot I would seriously consider working with Chiara Aprea she has some great offers right now on her facebook page also she has been kind enough to offer my readers a 10% discount if they use the code Sara10

Personally I am still on a high after my shoot, it was fantastic to let my gothic vamp out. I still look at the photos and wonder if that’s really me. I know I’ve said it before but I seriously LOVE THEM.

MeMeMe cosmetics – review

A few weeks ago I attended my first ever Fabb Event in Birmingham.

To be honest I didn’t know what to expect but i had a really great afternoon.

The event was really well presented, the brands were easy accessible and super informative.

I cannot show how fantastic the event was as for some reason i lost all my photos from the event when I updated my I-phone.

But my fellow blogger Natty Nikki has written a post here.

Now not being a beauty blogger I cannot really tell you in technical terms about make-up I honestly have to just raise my hands and say I like what I like and what suits me.

My girls have been my greatest teachers telling me what suits me and what doesn’t, (sometimes a little to much).

I also don’t have an extensive budget for beauty buys so I do find myself looking for competitive prices.

So when I came across the Me Me Me i was both excited and impressed.

mememe1

The quality of the packaging first caught my eye its classy and understated which i loved.

I also then fell for one of the lip glosses it was the colour I had been searching for.

We were then gifted a lovely bag with some products in  which I have been testing at home and have loved.

mememe2

The Archangel tinted brow gel is my favourite so far as its shapes my brows beautiful and the colour lasts fantastically.

There was a lip gloss to add to this but I think it disappeared into my teenage daughters room, she is just starting with make-up and the light colour i received was perfect for her. She loved it as it in her words “it lasted and wasn’t sticky like some”.

I still have to try the other products but so far I am super impressed.

The quality of the products is amazing and the prices are so competitive.

But honestly don’t take my word for it go check out their site Me Me Me Cosmetics  and from now till to the end of November they are offering my readers a 25% discount. Enter the code mememe25 at the basket.

Seriously I have added a few items to my christmas list including this Light Me Up lipgloss in the beautiful colour Intense.

I really love this gift set too.

Hipster holiday hotspots

I love finding new fashion ideas and get excited by new styles.

So when I came across Simply Be’s Hipster holiday hotspots I did get a little loud.

Its a fantastic interactive graphic which allows you to check out outfits styles from across various locations.

You get to scroll your way around the world woo hoo.

Go take a look and choose and vote for your favourite hotspot.

My favourite hotspot is Rome, Italy. An on trend grungy get up.

Canda is a close second.

I think they have missed a New York outift, I’m thinking this outfit would be perfect.

I would love this outfit.

Go take a look and come back and tell your favourite hotspot.

Style on Sunday

This week has been so hot and my wardrobe choices have been pretty limited.

Although I would love to have a selection of pretty summer clothes the finances say different.

This doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming though.

This weeks style on Sunday is a little different as I have been joined by one of my beautiful girlies.

Birthday shopping

For the first time ever I was super excited about birthday shopping.

My family had given me the cash so that I could choice what I wanted for myself.

My list

A new purse as my old one has broken.

A new spatula for baking

New clothes.

and some new undies.

So what did I get?

Well today I treated myself to some new make-up and some new nail polish.

But most importantly I have ordered some beautiful clothes.

Taking advantage of the ASOS sale i ordered this.

image1xl

And these gorgeous crop jeans from the So Fabulous range @ Very.

266x354t

What do you think?

I’m still on the search for a purse, nothing caught me eye today any suggestions?

I didn’t come across the spatula I wanted and as for underwear this is always a struggle, my boobs are so blooming awkward. ( I imagine you are so glad I shared that with you).

Anyway regardless of what I didn’t get I am super happy with my choices.

Birthday shopping is fun.

Learning to love myself.

Lets be honest there aren’t many women who look in the mirror and likes what they see.

We all want to change a little about ourselves.

Me I have a love hate relationship with my body.

I love to hate it.

Thanks to medication and not being able to properly exercise due to this wonderful (sarcasm) illness I am
a lot larger than what I wish to be.

For the last 8 years I have pretty much hated the mirror and avoided at all costs. Convinced that nothing looks good or would look good.

The last few months I have finally started to get over myself.

Thanks to fashion plus size bloggers and the growing range of plus size clothing I am realising that I can look good.

Reading the beauty blogs and learning more about make up and being more adventurous

I am trying to move forward from the jeans and black Tshirt that has pretty much been my daily uniform.

In fact the other day I went shopping and actually tried on clothes that I would have normally shied away from.

And guess what I brought pink shoes. Yes that’s right pink shoes.

I know this sounds crazy but this is big for me.

The journey to loving my body starts here.
