The Nut Job

Last Sunday afternoon we managed to find time in the seasons chaos to sit down and watch a movie as a family.

It was lovely to curl up on the sofa and have cuddles with my babies.

The DVD we had to watch was the new release The Nut Job and what a film it was.

From the opening scene we were enthralled. It was super sweet and so funny. The film had me at moments seriously laughing out loud. The humour was great for all ages.

Without giving to much away the story has bad guys and good. A reluctant hero and a lady with spirit.

You can enjoy crime, romance and friendship. All in the name of nuts.

We loved this film here and I think it would be a great one to add to your Christmas family film list.

The Nut Job is out now.

The Adventurer

Adventurer - pack shot

The film “The Adventurer” was very interesting.

It was a action packed film with some violence.

I would recommend a parent watched this this DVD first because it has lots of guns, fighting and death in it.

I really enjoyed it though it was very interesting to watch it had some great scenes and lots of contrasting characters.

Some are nice and some are bad mostly because they are after something very important to them.

It’s a film filled with history and suspense.

It was a great DVD, it had some fantastic action parts and some really funny parts.

It was a really good and i loved the setting and the era it was staged in.

I recommend this film but would say its definitely a PG one.

My mom especially loved this film but that may have more to do with Ioan Gruffudd being in it.

Brodie Meredith.

Here is one of my favourite scenes…….

A Tiger’s Tale – Review

When the zoo’s tiger cub Luna escapes her enclosure and crawls into Billy’s backpack a whole adventure for the little cub is beginning.

Billy finds her on the car ride home and he decided to hide her from his parents and get her back to the zoo as soon as possible but he’s not too sure how to do that.

Billy has a hard time hiding Luna from his parents and Buster their dog doesn’t make it any easier for him.

Billy’s friend Koby is then told about Luna and has a hard time not telling anyone.

Eventually the boys that tease Billy and Koby find out and in front of Doreen (the girl Billy has a huge crush on) and the other girls proposes that Luna should be shown to them the day after and if they didn’t show a beating would be the consequence.

Through the time that Billy gets Luna he gets into all sorts of predicaments that are funny and entertaining to watch!

A Tigers Tale provided a good story line that people of all ages would enjoy. It was filled with lots of humour and unexpected turns which made the film very exciting to watch.

The soundtrack made the film better too as it was fitted perfectly with the scenes.

The film is very family friendly.

A Tigers Tale shows kids the importance of honesty and the consequences of lying.

The tiger cub Luna makes the film cute and adorable which mixes perfectly with the comedy.

I would recommend this film to anyone and all ages as it is really a film anyone can enjoy from kids to adults. It is clean and teaches important messages making it perfect to show to children but can also be enjoyed by adults.

Lego Star Wars – Review

Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out film is a great funny film suitable for the ages of 7-11 as it is easy to follow and is fun to watch!

The film as a whole was really good and I enjoyed watching it as I am a huge starwars fan myself.

I lliked how it kept the whole ideas similar as the original star wars films but adding humour and more into it.

I would certainly recommend watching this film as it is fabulous and I feel lots of people would enjoy watching it

Argo- Review

If you are after an evening with that offers, suspense, intrigue and courage look no further than the new release on DVD “ARGO”

I was really excited about the release of “ARGO” as a history nut films like this really capture my attention. I’m also not going to deny that having Ben Affleck starring in it didn’t add to the appeal, I have loved Ben since his Good Will Hunting  Academy Award winning days.

Anyway back to the film ARGO is based on real live events it chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis, focusing on the little-known role that the CIA and Hollywood played— information that was not declassified until many years after the event.

On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, the Canadian and American governments ask the CIA to intervene. The CIA turns to their top “exfiltration” specialist, Tony Mendez, to come up with a plan to get the six Americans safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

Besides being incredible acting in the film, Ben was also the director of this fantastic film. He also was one of the dream team of producers coming along side Grant Heslov and the very handsome talented George Clooney.

Argo was a great hit at the cinemas and I’m sure it will be on dvd.

It was also a high flyer in the film awards taking home awards for

·         BAFTA Award for Best Film

·         BAFTA Award for Best Direction

·         BAFTA Award for Best Editing

·         Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture- Drama

·         Golden Globe Award for Best Director – Motion Picture

·         Academy Award for Best Motion Picture of the Year

·         Academy Award for Best Achievement in Editing

·         Academy Award for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously    Produced or Published

I really enjoyed this film it kept me interested from the beginning to the end and I honestly rate it as one of  the best films I’ve seen in a long time.

It is perfect for a cold nights entertainment.

Argo is available  from Amazon on both DVD and Blue-Ray

The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

The film has been rated R for language and some violent images.
