Happy Fathers Day

Today is Father’s Day the day where we celebrate the men who have raised us and those who help us raise our children.

I hit the jackpot in both these situations.

I have an amazing dad who means more to me than I think he actually knows.

Although he didn’t actual raise me he did inspire me in so many ways.

He has worked so hard to make a good life for himself.

Trying hard and setting a great example.

My dad is also the best Grandad a girl could ask for.

He idolises his grandchildren those of blood and those of love.

From the moment my girls entered this world they knew their Grandad loved them.

I love watching them all together.

They have him completely wrapped around their fingers.

From school concerts to exam results he encourages and supports them continually and I know they appreciate that so much.

I also know he misses one little girl so desperately at times that the pain is sometimes etched on his face.

Dad I do wish we had more moments from my childhood to share.

But as I have become an adult you have been there for me at every moment.

You have listened when I have struggled and held me when I have cried.

You are an amazing dad and an fantastic Grandad.

I Love you so much.

Then there is my husband Alan the father of my four girls and foster daddy to our foster son.

Alan You rock.

Never could I have wished for a better father for my children than you.

From the moment we found out we were expecting your priority has been your children.

You work so hard to provide for them and I love your wish to give them the world.

From night time feeds to vomit filled beds you have done it all.

You are one of the reasons I love being a mom, because I get to raise them alongside you.

My children and I are so very lucky to have these two amazing men in our lives.

So from me and the tribe.

Happy fathers dad

Happy birthday Daddy, 60 Today

Today my dad celebrates his 60th birthday.

I am so excited to spend this special day with him.

I know everyone thinks their dads are amazing but I know my dad is ha ha.

I love my dad with all my heart.

Let me tell you a little about my dad.

He is always there for me and my family.

The endless nights I spent in the hospital with Olivia my dad was a constant visitor. Getting cuddles or holding her hand letting her know Grandad is was for her.

He was always there for her and for me too, especially when I really needed his strength. He was my rock.

Olivia like her sisters loves her grandad. Her eyes used to light up at the sound of his voice.

When the girls perform he is always there. So very proud of his granddaughters. His friends would testify to the pride he has of them. I’m sure they have been made to listen or watch videos of singing performances or Iceskating competitions over and over again.

Yet it’s not just the girls he opens his heart too. My two foster sons both have shared his heart. The man has been covered in vomit and dribble all given in love of course.

My dad is my inspiration. I have watched him work so hard for all he has achieved. I have watched him struggle but always caring for others first.

He Is an amazing man and besides him refusing to stow me away in his suitcase when he holidays at some amazing places I do love him with all my heart.

Happy Birthday Dad here’s to your sixties being full of happiness, laughter and love.

We love you xxx

60th

The need for speed.

Sometimes the best moments can be found from the joy of others.

Today was one of those days.

Last year for Father’s Day I treated my husband and my Dad to a driving experience with Driveme. They both choose to drive the Audi R8. Now I know nothing about cars but it looked pretty awesome.

Alan took to the track first and from the look on his face he had an amazing time. He was followed by my dad who came off looking as if he wanted to go again.

Lets just say I may have started something with these gifts as both Dad and Alan signed up for their next experience.

Well at least thats fathers day covered for the next few years.

As for me I loved every moment of the event.

Watching the two men I care for most in the whole world have a great was time was amazing.

Both these guys mean the world to me so i’m so glad I got to watch them have fun.

Making memories

2014 I’m coming for you.

After hearing the news of the passing of one not much older than me. I have reached a realisation.

Life is way to short.

I have been letting the ones who have walked away from me have too much of my headspace and allowing them to cause me heartache.

Not anymore

I am going to cherish those that walk alongside me. My pretty awesome husband Alan and my beautiful children. My fantastic dad and stepmom who are always there for me and of course my amazing friends.

I have had old friends come back into my life which I am so grateful for. People who I have missed dearly.

I have made new friends that now feel like they have been in my life forever.

I have a new church family and a place where my husband has found his faith, which I am so very blessed by.

I have been welcomed into a new community of plus size bloggers who have shown me that I am beautiful whatever my size. They have given me confidence I have never had.

I have friends that have stood by me for many years. Being a light in the darkness. Special needs parents, grieving parents all have walked along side me.

I am truly blessed.

2014 is going to be my year of moving forward.
