You would never guess where I was only last night, 10 Downing Street, yes that’s right the home of our prime minster.
I was invited to an event being held by the charity Net buddy, a online resource for parents, carers and professionals dealing with people with learning disabilities, offering advice, support and guidance.
I’m not sure why I got the invite but hey I wasn’t going to say no, was I?
I had a truly wonderful evening, meeting the founders of Net buddy, Deborah Gundle and Linda Goldberg two inspirational and very determined woman.
But the highlight of my night was my when i got to chat briefly with Samantha Cameron and was able to share Livvy with her.
Downing Street was an amazing experience and one I can now tick off my “to do list”. Getting to walk through those gates was simply WOW.
The interior of number 10 was truly beautiful, I really wanted to just stand and admire the artwork and architecture. But for some strange reason you aren’t allowed to go a wandering. Such a shame, maybe next time.
I am a great admirer of our government and the way it works so visiting such an astute place was a fascinating experience for me.
All in all it was a incredible and exhausting experience and one which I will cherish for a long time.
Though I promise if I ever get invited again I will wear flat shoes, my feet are still aching today.
Thank you Deborah and Linda at Net Buddy for my invite and keep up the amazing work you are doing.
