Today is Easter Sunday not a day just about eating chocolate eggs but a day of real jubilation as Christians all around the world celebrate the resurrection of Christ Jesus.
Since finding my faith this day like no other fills me with hope. This day is my truth.
Jesus died for our sins so that we may be set free. His blood cleansed us. Through Jesus we were forgiven.
The resurrection brings me hope. It’s what gets me through the dark times. When the grief engulfs me and I want to give up. I remember the empty tomb and the promise of heaven.
As I read about Jesus ascending to be with his father I am reminded of my daughter waiting for me and because of the amazing sacrifice of Jesus one day we will be reunited. Eternity will be ours.
So as I celebrate Jesus’ defeat over death I remind myself that Livvy and I are only parted for a while, for a short part in the journey of forever.
It is this that gets me through the day. It is that gives me strength.
People ask how you cope with losing a child. You don’t cope, you survive. I survive through hope. Hope that I find in the empty tomb. Hope that I find in the truth.
John 14:6 (NLT)
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
May you Jesus be my way, my truth, my life.
